Hooray! We finally know what will become of ex French Vogue Editor, Carine Roitfeld. The French beauty will be teaming up with Barneys to edit and style their autumn/winter 2011-2012 campaign which will be shot by photographer, Mario Sorrenti. She will also be styling the windows of the Madison Avenue store which will be unveiled in September of this year.
About the move to retail, she tells WWD "To be on the other side with the retailers and buyers is new for me, and I always like new opportunities in my life," she says. "Working with Barneys, and choosing the looks, I was thinking about whether a real woman would buy this outfit and feel beautiful and comfortable."
To add to this, Roitfeld is also bringing out a book this year, which consists of over 400 pages about her career in fashion so far. The book boasts a number of impressive contributors such as American Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour and is edited by Purple Magazines, Olivier Zahm. The 56 year old former model is a perfect example of why your career doesn’t have to end as you get older.
