The Craziest Looks At NYFW SS 2014

Think last year was crazy? Wait till you see the outfits, hair, and 'ears' that made it down the runway this year!!

The Blonds took on a Tweety Bird meets Spock look at their show at MILK studios.  Models wore huge "tweety" buns and mirrored pointy "ears" down the runway dressed in a collection inspired by all the "famous" blonds in history from the Barbarella to Madonna.  Of course paying tribute to the first famous blond.....Tweety Bird?!?

Zac Posen's collection of gorgeous gowns was soft and romantic.  Hair was adorned with silk flowers and dusted with grey.  The standout beauty look of his collection was the bright green hair he sent down the catwalk amongst the other natural hair colored models.  It is the best green hair we've ever seen though!

Falguni and Shane Peacock always put on a good show but this season they accessorized their patterned jackets and see-through gowns with metallic leg braces?!?! An interesting look in deed

Last but not least, Betsey Johnson who's collection was entitled: A BJ a Day.  She went for a more "serious" approach with pink haired models donning metallic lips and eyes and ombre pink and chrome nails.  Her collection was her favorite looks to wear personally but the real show stopper was the finale.  Models came back out on stage dressed in days of the week undies!  Betsey even wore a pair over her leggings and the 71 year old was happy to shake her butt for the paparazzi.

Ronson attracts Kim Kardashian, Mena Suvari, and Olivia Munn to name a few

Charlotte Ronson's military grunge collection with 70's undertones (very popular this season) attracted some of hollywood's heavy hitters.

Kim Kardashian was there, but said to have made a quick exit possibly before the show even started.  I appologize but wasn't able to get a good photo.

Also in attendance were Mena Suvari, Olivia Munn,  Angela Simmons, Lala Vazquez, Sophia Bush, actress Lynn Collins, Dj/producer Josh Madden (brother to Joel and Benji of Good Charlotte),  and MTV's The City cast member and host of Plain Jane Louise Roe.

Our smallest A-lister, Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss' daughter Sienna, recieved a quick kiss from Ms. Ronson at the end of the show.  So cute.

Backstage at Monique Lhuillier- Nails Done Hair Done Everything Did

Odile Gilbert for Kerastase fashioned these fabulous chignons, Val Garland for MAC created these sultry smokey eyes and fierce eyebrows, and CND was in charge of those come hither nails.
I was lucky enough to interview Odile, Val, and some of the fabulous people at CND and got all my fashion week beauty questions answered.

The first thing which I was always curious about is, what if a model is booked for two (or three or four) shows back-to-back.  They obviously don't have time to wash each model's hair between shows- what do you do?  The answer was simple.  They just brush all the products out, dry shampoo works well too.
Odile told me the secret to getting super shiny model hair - Kerastase's new Elixer Ultime.  I even tried it out, not only was my hair shinnier but it also felt much softer.

Val shared the secrets to the stunning eyes she sent down the runway; white eyeliner pencil on the inside to make your eyes look wide and a smokey mix of black and plum on top.  To get the full effect line the bottom middle of your eye with the black/plum combo but avoid both the outer and inner corners- in other words, leave two spaces.  Then pair it with a penciled in sharp brow and you'll be runway ready.

After explaing the looks, the inspiration behind them, and step-by-step how to create them the one thing I was really wondering was this.... how badly are these model's hair and nails ruined after constantly being done, over and over again hour after hour, day after day?  Odile told me with quality products (like Kerastase) your hair actually looks better, not worse.  As for nails, well I think they'll be skipping manicures for a while after fashion week ends.

Want to hear my interview with CND to get those amazing finger tips? Well you can, the video is uploaded on my blog in another post!

That's a whole lot of bobby pins!
